Kanya Sumangala Yojana: several beneficial schemes are being run by the central government to protect women and increase their education rate. Under these, permanent training and financial assistance is provided for the economic/social upliftment of underprivileged women in the states and UTs so that they can get employment and support themselves and their families well. Under the kanya Sumangala Yojana, the UP government provides financial assistance to all economically weaker families for the education of their daughters up to Class 12 in 6 installments of Rs 25,000. Earlier this assistance was Rs 15,000, which the state government has increased for the financial year 2024-25 to Rs 25,000. The aid amount is available in six different stages
Under Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, financial assistance is provided to daughters of economically weaker families. Under the scheme, this assistance amount is given for the education of girls up to 12th standard. Under the kanya Sumangala Yojana, a total package of 6 thousand rupees is given by the state government in 25 phases. Earlier, under this scheme, daughters were given Rs 15 thousand in six different phases, but this amount has been increased after the announcement of the state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. By taking advantage of this scheme of the state government, the Daughters of poor families will not only be educated but will also become self-reliant. Along with this, other poor girls of the state will also be motivated towards education to avail this scheme. This will increase the scope of girls ‘ education in the state. Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, the expenses of girls from birth to their education are borne by the state government.
This is how the package is delivered
Under this scheme, the state government has been providing financial assistance to daughters since April 2024 of Rs 15 thousand instead of Rs 25 thousand. Instead of Rs 2,000, Rs 5,000 is transferred as the first instalment in the Guardian’s account at the time of the daughter’s birth. The beneficiary will then be given Rs 2,000 for all vaccinations for one year, Rs 3,000 at the time of admission to Class 1, Rs 3,000 at the time of admission to Class 6 and Rs 5,000 at the time of admission to class. IX. After passing the Class 10th and 12th exams or enrolling in the two-year diploma course, the financial assistance of Rs 7,000 will be transferred to the bank account of the daughter. Thus, under this scheme, a daughter of a family will be given a total of Rs 25 thousand for education. Under this scheme of the state government, benefits are given to 2 daughters of eligible poor families. Under this scheme, money is distributed by the government through direct bank transfer (DBT) to the accounts of the beneficiaries.
Which families will get benefits under Kanya Sumangala Yojana?)
Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, the increased assistance for the financial year 2024-25 will be availed only by the Daughters of economically weaker families native to Uttar Pradesh. The annual income from all sources of the beneficiary girl child’s family should be less than a maximum of Rs 3 lakh. For permanent residence proof, it will be mandatory to provide ration card, Aadhaar card, identity card, electricity or water bill issued by the state government to the beneficiary family. The beneficiary family should have a bank account linked to the Aadhaar card. Only 2 girls will get benefit from one family in this scheme. If a girl child has been adopted by a family, the family should have a certificate of adoption, while a woman has a daughter born into a third child in Twins by second delivery, then in this case also that daughter will be considered eligible for the benefit of the scheme.

For Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, the beneficiary family must have the necessary documents like birth certificate of the daughter, Aadhaar card of the parents, income certificate of the family, passport size photo, educational qualification certificate of the daughter, Aadhaar link mobile number, bank account pass book, Guardian death certificate (if not parents) and residence certificate etc. at the time of application.
How to apply for Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala scheme
More than 17 lakh daughters have been benefited under the Chief Minister kanya Sumangala Yojana of the Uttar Pradesh government. Under this scheme, girls from all families living below the poverty line of the state are being benefited in the financial year 2024-25 as well. To avail the benefits of the scheme, eligible families will have to visit the official website of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana and apply for the scheme online. On the website, you can apply online in the scheme by clicking on the option of Citizen Service Portal. Applicants who are not able to apply online themselves can submit their offline application at the Office of the BDO / SDM / Probationary Officer. After filling the online application form in Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, if the beneficiary has to fill the form for one daughter, then he has to click on Girl Child-1 if the application form for another girl, then the applicant has to click on Girl Child-2.
